The Things You Must Know To Be A Great Leader

For a business to be successful, it must have an effective leader. Most of the successful business leaders today show varieties in their leadership styles. Great leaders are made. Read through this article if you wish to figure out what goes into being a strong leader so you can apply it to the industry you’re in.

Honesty is a great place to start when you are looking to improve your leadership qualities. When you are a leader, you always want to have a positive direction in which to lead your team. If you are an honest leader, those around you are going to see your good intentions and want to be a part of them. Being honest with your team also encourages everyone else to have the same high standards.

When you’re dealing with customers or your employees you have to be ethical at all times. A truly successful business is an ethical one. If your customers see the sincerity in the job that you do, they will be loyal to your business. Having a standard of morality in your company will give your employees a guide that they should follow.

Tenacity is key to becoming a great leader. If something happens to throw the team off course, it is up to the leader to get things back on track. Instead, concentrate on accomplishing your goals even when obstacles arise. Your persistence will give the group all they need to become motivated.

Listening to your employees is more important than talking to them. Good leaders know that listening to their employees and to those around them is vitally important. Listen to what people have to say. Listen to the positive and negative things they have to say. You can learn something from anyone, no matter who they are. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ll take away from listening.

Think about synergy often. Have a good grasp of your own personal goals. Know what the business goals are. Your goals should align well and possibly overlap. You’ll always be able to have both of these things worked on simultaneously. If you are unable to do that, your boredom will show.

Effective and clear communication with employees is an important skill of every leader. Verify with every employee that they have received the right information and have the right goals in mind. Don’t micromanage, but always be aware how each project within your company is progressing.

Fulfill your promises. You have to live up to your promises. If you can’t do this for any reason, you have to tell others why this is the case. Making sudden changes to plans or promises can undermine your respect unless others understand the reasons behind your decisions.

There are many things a great leader must understand, thus making success a challenge. Still, it is possible to become a great leader. If you’re ready to take on being a leader, use what you’ve gone over here to help establish yourself as the leader you want to be.

Leadership Through Hope: Lessons From Reggae Music – Forbes

Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Both positivity and negativity can help people get through tough times. The difference is that positivity can lead the way toward positive action for a better future. In periods of great social upheaval such as United States in the 1960s, positive music provided a motivating soundtrack. Recently, a resurgence of positive reggae music has been offering messages of hope to a growing audience. Bands such as Rebelution, SOJA, Tribal Seeds, The Expendables and Iration have brought reggae and its positivity into the twenty-first century. For these bands, reggae music enhances the effectiveness of what they have to say.As Hazrat Inayat Khan wrote in The Mysticism of Sound and Music , Music raises the soul of man even higher than the so-called external form of religionThat is why in ancient times the greatest prophets were great musicians. If I would just say my lyrics in a speech without the music, I dont know if it would really get to people, told me Eric Rachmany, front man and songwriter for the reggae band Rebelution . But because Im doing it through music, it has a way to get to the soul in a way that cant necessarily be done just through speaking. The fans seem to be getting the message. The bands fourth album, Count Me In, recently entered the Billboard charts at number 14, selling 17,201 copies in its first week. People want to root for positive music, said Rachmany.
